PROJECTS

Project | 01 Sports Expo

In 2010 as part of my role with the Australian Sports Commission I instigated and ran the first Sports Expo in Mackay. Since this time Mackay Regional Council have taken over the concept. The Sports Expo now welcomes over 5000 visitors each year with over 90 sports and clubs regularly attending.

Project | 02 Clermont Sports Festival

As part of the Active After-schools program I organised and delivered a sports festival for the remote schools in Clermont. Development officers coached 300 school children over two days. Students from Clermont State School, St Josephs Primary, Kilcumin State School and Mistake Creek State School attended and were introduced to sports not readily available in this community. Strong links were forged with community members, Rio Tinto and school staff.

Project | 03 Paralympic Sports Day

In the build up to the last Olympic Games in conjunction with Sporting Wheelies, I ran a very successful Paralympic Sports Day to highlight the fantastic athletes that represent our great region. Students from years 5-7 from Victoria Park State School were introduced to a range of Paralympic Sports including, Bocce, Goalball, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball and Soccer. The disabled athletes and Sporting Wheelies coaches were amazing and students developed a great respect for these athletes and the sports they have represented.

I am ready to listen and I am motivated to turn your ideas into action!
